SEEING RED!

The word 'irony' came to mind at first, but....hmmm...

At the moment, there are discussions almost everywhere on the internet (?) regarding Jack Kirby, Gary Friedrich, Tony Moore/Kirkman, Gaiman/McFarlane, to name a few. All of which concerning the issue of creators' rights.

Assuming those who read this post already know what I'm talking about (though I've typed a lot originally for this post), I think I'll just skip the hullabaloo and say things I wanted to say as simple as I can.

So, here's MY.. oh sorry, my bad, I meant MARVEL's Daredevil that I just got it colored recently. An old piece actually.

And here now IS one of MY creation, named CHA-NUA, one of the antagonist for a story that I had to postpone its completion/production till I write better. Either that, or find a writer.

Dark Horse recently held a CONAN THE BARBARIAN COVER ART CONTEST to herald the return of the last Cimmerian's new book. I was in the middle of something when I first knew about this and by the time I was free, it was just two days away from the deadline!

From where I'm standing now as I write/blog this, the contest has ended, yesterday.

This is my first take in response to the contest's title.

Yeah, I know, the lines are ( a little) messy.

So that's why (small part of the reason, actually) I did an another one.

Without the drawing lines! Haha!

Frankly, I am not really satisfied with what I have done here. I expect to do better.

I never really ink and color others work before. Not one that I can consider a finished piece, that is. But here I am, I have inked and colored a piece by the talented Mr. Kevin Thomas whom I knew from a forum on facebook. I was really tempted to see an inked version of his animation styled rendering of Wolverine so I guess I just automatically raised my hand when he asked me if I want to do it.

Here's one of the little something I did fully in digital.. A 2814 Green Lantern...

Okay, I admit, I'm one of those guys who felt a little upset with 'Wade Wilson' becoming 'Hal Jordan'...and I also have to admit that the first Green Lantern that I knew was Kyle Rayner, during the 'Zero Hour' crossover around 10++ years back. At that time, Hal Jordan is/was Parallax and he killed everyone on Oa... even Kilowog. So I still couldn't really accept the fact that 'The Merc With A Mouth' a.k.a Ryan Reynolds played GL Hal Jordan. Coz in my eyes, Hal is bad bad-a$$, not Deadpool bad-a$$...but that's just me..

Also to me, Darryl Banks drew and designed the coolest Green Lantern uniform. Up to now I still dig that mask Kyle wore as GL.

I always thought inking in your pc is a nuisance...and then I was introduced to SAI. Its cooler to ink with it rather than the 'usual' one, and it also made me want to do things 'tidier' than usual..that is...

But whatttaheck! The female form (in its subjectivity <--did I use it correctly?), is always enchanting and sometimes can be the fall of a man.

Pergh's Character Redesign Battle 132 : Captain America

Don't pay any mind to my INaccurate and IMproper namings that started with the letter I. Thats just me goofing around. Uhuh-huh.. ~

This time around, I managed to "capture" one of many Pergh.com's star artist, Mr. amykamen555 to pour his experienced touch of colors to my hollow scratching. I am truly honored. Hope you guys love this piece as much as i do.

Pergh's Character Redesign Battle 131 : Iron Monger

Well, I guess you guys already knew of Obadiah Stane a.k.a Iron Monger from the now classic Iron Man movie. I don't really read a lot of Iron Man comics, and the name 'Iron Monger' is a little distant to me, not like the usual Whirlwind, The Living Lazer or Crimson Dynamo.
(Or the name/character just eluded me for some twisted and uncanny reason.) <-- lame excuse for not knowing things~

Without further a due, here's my depiction of Iron Monger in the "battle"..with big help, colorwise, by Mr. Alif Artik..

I'm gonna do this without a mention on my 2 months of no updates...so, just bare with me if you can. :areallycutesmileyface:

This is a character re-design of Sol Badguy. A character which in my circle is quite famous actually in the Guilty Gear game, but not to me..as to I am not a games addict...yet.
So, don't blame me for my shallow interpretation of this guy, ok?
(Truth is, i'm still annoyed by his name..ahahaha..)

Enuff meaningless typing to self, and here it is, done with pencil and ink..

Ok, this is my second digitally colored work for CRB, and lost another 5 hours of sleep on the night before i submit it.
Up to now my head keeps replaying the opening song of Ultraman Ace, over and over again...uhhhh...
In regard of that song, i got the idea of making it like the opening...err, thing, on almost all of Ultraman series (i think...). The ones where it shows the silhouette of that week's monster and title of the episode.
Besides Sketchpro, this time i also used Photoshop for some... "enhancement"...

There were only 2 connections i can make with this character to other established ones. I think due to lack of paying attention or my memory is getting worse by the day..anyway, one is Gambit from the Xmen and Son Goku of Dragonball. I connected them thru the stick (or bo staff) they are carrying. Sounds stupid right? Ok, stop, dont judge me, please. Hahaha... Hey, even before Zombieland, i've always held on to "Its the little things..." hmmmm...nuff said lah..

Oh, i added something that i quite regret for the battle, Goku's hair for Go-Maul..
don't know what i was thinking then..hmmmpff!!

Something From The Old Closet..

As embarassing as it look, i had to show these out..
They were my comic tribute to the hero i adore when i was primary school, aged around 10-12 then..Hey, its Suria Perkasa Hitam man..gotta love it!! Masked Rider Black!! Tendangan padu maut!!!
On a piece of drawing paper that was folded, i have a 4 page per issue of the cheesy-ly named "Mighty Riders", a 11-12issue run and classmates as my reader and supporter..
A year ago, i showed the whole set 2 my housemates, and demm..we got something to laugh about for the whole night! Yup, they sure can recognize absurdity when they see one..lol..

At least i got it out of my system..huhf..
