Creator Owned Day

The 1st of March is Creator Owned Day.

I never knew there was one before. By the time that I wrote this, the date has passed on my side of the world but somewhere I think it still is the 1st of March. So I guess my post here is still valid. Right?

I don't see much action regarding the matter on my facebook page, except for posts by Steve Niles, Tony Harris and a few indie comic artists. Maybe it's still an early 1st of March for the other large part of the world that I'm following.

So, here's my post for Creator Owned Day;

This is Mila.

From the first look of her with the creatures, I'm guessing you are thinking that she is the female rip-off of The Darkness, the daughter of Jackie Estacado or whatever. Well, she's not! Haha!

She's one of those orphans who choose their own names and surnames, in a (yet again) post-apocalyptic not too distant future earth. Revealing her full name now would ruin the plans I have for her in the story she's involved in. What I can tell you now is that her initials are M.B.I, she is 14 years old and those creatures are her offsprings.

Mila is one of the characters for a story, that is yet to be named, in my effort to do teen/shonen mangas.

P.s: It's Mila B_ _ _ _ _ _ I_ _ _ _ _ _ _. ;)

Edit/update : I might have misinterpreted the whole Creator Owned Day thing, but Mila is my character and I own her, so I might as well just go with it anyway!

SEEING RED!

The word 'irony' came to mind at first, but....hmmm...

At the moment, there are discussions almost everywhere on the internet (?) regarding Jack Kirby, Gary Friedrich, Tony Moore/Kirkman, Gaiman/McFarlane, to name a few. All of which concerning the issue of creators' rights.

Assuming those who read this post already know what I'm talking about (though I've typed a lot originally for this post), I think I'll just skip the hullabaloo and say things I wanted to say as simple as I can.

So, here's MY.. oh sorry, my bad, I meant MARVEL's Daredevil that I just got it colored recently. An old piece actually.

And here now IS one of MY creation, named CHA-NUA, one of the antagonist for a story that I had to postpone its completion/production till I write better. Either that, or find a writer.

EQUITEM

This, my good people of the internet, is Equitem. A co-creation by me and the young and gifted man of words, Mr. Neil Burke. Equitem is, umm, let me quote Neil's description of him on facebook, ".. the deadliest Catholic in the world, the man who makes Chuck Norris cry.." That is all I can tell you about this character for the time being. ;D

Seeing Equitem, along with a few other pending projects I have with me, published, should be my aim for 2012. That, and be financially stabil again. Lots to do before the world ends!

In the midst of chaos...

The jam is officially finished and you can read it here. Wish I could spend more time on things such as this and my own projects, but...awheck! I'll just give more excuses! It's do or don't, right? ;)

Another coloring job I did, for a Mr. Mohd Syahrin. Maybe I overdone it a little, but I still think it as a good practise. I'll try something simpler next time.

It's a teamwork effort and I needed the exercise.

It's been a week already??? Time really flies when you got much on your head and your hand doesn't it? Anyway, on with the pathetic show shall we?

Another character meant for my so-called proposed comic.
He's one of the freak of nature in the storyline that's got the "freaky" look..
The zip on his hoodie doesn't seem quite right..or is it his right chest?
And the goat's/devil's head on his pants shouldn't be there...it's just awful!





I'm starting to feel embarrassed about what i'm doing here...
I don't know, maybe it's just a phase..
But the hell i won't give up now!!
"GO GO GO GO!!! " i said to myself..
in a sad, crappy tone...

CHERI and pet(s).

This Cheri is one of the characters i created for the postponed comic i talked about yesterday...the first one was my attempt in trying to draw a cute girl, not so successful...but the second one i think is better...but that's my personal opinion only..hehe..
I can't really decide what is her 'real' pet would be..the 1st one is supposed to be a leopard..or tiger..huhuh..and the 2nd one looked more like a fox rather than a wolf..;p...
Anyway, since i decided that Cheri's specialty is kinda related to animals, lets have her with a collection of pets!!
That'd be cool, rite?!

A few years back, i tried to do an 8 page "manga-ish" comic to submit to Gempak (if you know about the Bakat Baru or The New Talent thing thats going on there..it'd be easier for me ;p)..but it seems that laziness, time and my surroundings kept holding me back..(yeah, blame it on everybody..haha.. T-T)..

Seriously, at that time, i don't think i'm ready..theres much to learn and to think about..but thinking too much won't get you nowhere..wahaha..[ i'm still struggling to just do without excessive thinking -just like when i'm typing these words, it took forever! huuuhh..]

So, here it is, the unfinished thing :

Something From The Old Closet..

As embarassing as it look, i had to show these out..
They were my comic tribute to the hero i adore when i was primary school, aged around 10-12 then..Hey, its Suria Perkasa Hitam man..gotta love it!! Masked Rider Black!! Tendangan padu maut!!!
On a piece of drawing paper that was folded, i have a 4 page per issue of the cheesy-ly named "Mighty Riders", a 11-12issue run and classmates as my reader and supporter..
A year ago, i showed the whole set 2 my housemates, and demm..we got something to laugh about for the whole night! Yup, they sure can recognize absurdity when they see one..lol..

At least i got it out of my system..huhf..

Sugar, spice...and everything else got their price...

If you knew about the PowerPuffGirls, then you'd definitely knew that there are 3 of them...
however, in my version, the PawaPuffedGrrr, there's only 2...Blossom and Bubbles..."where's Buttercup?" you asked...well, i killed her...i meant, i made the Israel's bombs stuffed her mouth and exploded...leaving poor ol' Buttercup headless and lifeless...
"why her?" you asked..coz i like her...and i just wanted to see how the other 2 siblings cope with her death...according to my 'say-so' laa..ngeheh..
that's why i imagined Blossom and Bubbles got so mad and angry with Buttercup's death, they somehow evolved(..coz i don't think "transformed" is the answer i seek..lol)...becoming a 'hulk-like' monster babes...
those mechanical hands are a result to too much punching the badguys(the Israelis) and they forced their dad 2 replace the original worn ones...
and so the story goes..(?)
